The Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation Center at University of Minnesota is a pioneer in the research and treatment of children undergoing bone marrow transplant. bswing designed "The Transplant Journey" to help caregivers understand the bone marrow transplantation process as a treatment option. The design focuses on the emotional and informational needs of families making extremely difficult decisions.
The Transplant Journey is orgainized around key stages of treatment, from the days leading-up to transplant and to the recover that follows.
An immersive photo documentary features real stories of nine families and their kids going through the transplant journey. Their authentic stories give insight into the ups and downs of treatment while highlighting the world-class care and reputation of the Center.
bswing crafted the overall narrative and art directed the photo shoot documenting the families. We wanted the stories to capture the incredible hope and grave challenges facing these families. Here are three exceprts from the documentary.
